In Hayat National Hospital Group (Riyadh, Aseer, Jazan, and Qassim), this unit is staffed by highly qualified and trained urologist, anesthetist, x-ray technologists, and registered nurses.
Extra Corporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) boasts a specialized lithotripsy technique which dissolves urinary stones by advanced endoscopic procedures. A lithotripter is a machine that produces shock waves, with very high velocity and frequency, that hit kidney stones and break them into small pieces. These small pieces will then pass in the urine.
ESWL has been used clinically in the world in 1982, and since that it has relieved many patients from surgical intervention.
